Congratulations to Ian Simpson (Wheelchair Rugby) who was the winner of the Para Athlete of the Year at the South Canterbury Sports Awards over the weekend.

A member of Canterbury Wheelchair Rugby, Ian Simpson has played for the past seven or so years. He was selected in the New Zealand Wheel Blacks team in 2023 but was unable to compete due to illness. In 2024 he was selected in the Wheel Blacks team to represent New Zealand at the World Wheelchair Rugby Paralympic Qualification Tournament held in Wellington in March 2024.
