The James Sheehan Most Valued Partner Award was established in 2020 to recognise the people and organisations that have been outstanding partners to ParaFed Canterbury.
The award is named after James Sheehan, one of our most outstanding partners and friends over many years, who tragically passed away in December 2019. James was a larger than life character who was a friend to many and a wonderful supporter of ParaFed Canterbury. From his days working with Global Culture, where he supplied not only ParaFed Canterbury’s clothing needs, but also the 2008 New Zealand Paralympic Teams uniform for Beijing. Then after starting his own company JS Apparel, he continued this partnership and he always looked after our needs and was keen to assist wherever he could.
He then joined our Board in 2016 until his sudden death in 2019. In honour of the commitment to ParaFed Canterbury across many years and areas we have decided to introduce the James Sheehan “Most Valued Partner Award” in recognition of an individual or organisation that has partnered with and been a key factor in ours and our members successes.
